North Down Ladies Football Club is the only club developing Ladies Soccer in the North Down Borough for all ages and abilities.

The sport has enjoyed a massive growth in popularity during the last five years with Girls Soccer boasting 35 million participating females worldwide, and BBC1 television regularly screening in Ladies Cup Finals - the most recent Arsenal Ladies Cup Final 5-0 win over Leeds United Ladies in May 06.

In Northern Ireland, it is recognised as the fastest growing sport amongst females with 20% of schools now including ladies soccer in their curriculum.
The league now comprises of fifty plus teams spread geographically across the whole of the Province, playing in Seven Divisions, throughout the summer, from April to September each year.

NDLFC hope to establish a Junior Section (Vipers) (11 -14 years), bringing younger players into the sport in a safe and healthy environment, promoting team play and character building as part of Youth Developing Programme.
The clubs roots can be traced back to North Down Star who enjoyed great success with the unprecedented back to back league and cup double wins in the late nineties - gaining promotion to the highest division - The National Division in 1999.
Working in association with North Down Borough Council, the Club is on its way to establishing themselves as the latest ladies football club in Northern Ireland and already are well on the way to making their mark in the 2006 season - the club all ready established as bona fide competitors - with twenty five members lining up against the 50 plus teams in the NIWFA in 2006, and are ready to represent the club in the Intermediate B Division

It has breached the Sectarian divide and is all-inclusive as a Cross Community Programme with members from all over North Down - Donaghadee, Bangor, Holywood and Belfast, and has now started working with Co-Operation Ireland - developing links with an Ladies football club from the Republic of Ireland.
The Club would welcome anyone interested in playing whether for fun, or competitively, or even anyone who fancies getting involved with, what is, after all, the fastest growing sport in the world, to join Northern Ireland’s newest Ladies Football Club.

NORTH DOWN LADIES F.C.


Were formed in August 2005 and were officially affiliated to the sports governing body in March 2006, and are competing in the NIWFA, the sports governing body, from April to September.
The club's kit sponsors are Mint, Bangor's most prominent NiteClub and the club play in Black Shirts, Black Shorts and White Socks
The club plans to concentrate on achieving promotion over the next couple of years and in their first ever season of competitive soccer, plan to try and reach to a higher level of play and a top four divisional finish.
North Down Ladies are playing in the Intermediate B Division, along with Knockbreda, Carrick Rangers, Larne ladies, Wellington, Belfast Banks, PSNI and Ards Raiders, one division of the seven spread geographically al over the Provicne competiting in the sports governing body and the club plans to excel their expectations hoping to bring some silverware back to North Down in the next two years.

The club plan to extend their membership to 40 Senior Players by the end of the 2007 season and will always welcome all new players, regardless of age or ability to join what is destined to be NORTHERN IRELAND’S TOP LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB.
